Terms of use

1. The service and operator

Generate Greetings combines a prepared phrase library, photographs and decorations into personalised greeting cards. These terms explain the conditions for using the free service at generategreetings.com. The operator is:

The service is intended for adults sending greetings to friends and family. An account is not required for card creation, download or the available sharing functions. Privacy choices are separate from these terms; using the website does not consent to optional tracking.

2. Free cards and the planned paid option

Free downloads and sharing include the Generate Greetings watermark. You can select from the available sizes and languages. Previews, fonts, emoji appearance and sharing options may vary with device support; check the finished card before sending it.

3. Your inputs and sharing decisions

Use a name or nickname you are entitled to include. Do not submit sensitive information or use the service for harassment, unlawful discrimination, fraud, impersonation, infringement or other unlawful content. Do not use automated requests to overwhelm the service, bypass security or extract the image library in bulk.

You retain any rights you hold in your own input. You give the operator only the permission needed to process it and render the card you request. We do not claim ownership of a recipient’s name. You are responsible for checking the wording, language, recipient and sharing destination, and obtaining any permissions your use requires.

Sharing is initiated by you. On supported devices the system share sheet can send the image. A WhatsApp fallback can prepare the text and download the image separately; you may need to attach that image in WhatsApp. Opening a share sheet is not proof that a message was delivered. External platforms apply their own conditions.

4. Photographs, decorations and generated results

Photographs in the current library are catalogued as CC0 and each has a source/credit link. Decorations and fonts have their own open licences, listed on the Credits page. The finished card can include rights belonging to several parties. We do not promise that a generated phrase or combination is unique or exclusive.

Copyright permissions do not automatically clear trademarks, identifiable people, private property or other personality rights. Check the relevant source and permissions before a commercial, sensitive or promotional use. Do not imply that the operator, a photographer or a depicted person endorses your message or product. The site’s name and logo identify the service; these terms do not grant a general licence to use its branding independently.

5. Availability and responsible use

We aim to provide a useful, accessible service, but may update, interrupt or remove features, correct errors, or limit abusive requests. We can restrict uses that compromise security or violate these terms, in a proportionate way. Keep your own copy of a card you want to retain; the free editor is not a permanent archive.

Do not rely on random greeting text as professional advice or as accurate information about a person, event or culture. Review translations and tone before use, particularly for important occasions. Contact the operator if a message, image or accessibility barrier needs attention.

6. Responsibility and mandatory rights

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, universal device compatibility, uniqueness or suitability for every intended use. Responsibility for loss is determined by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that the law does not allow us to exclude, including mandatory consumer rights and liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence where applicable.

Italian law applies, subject to any mandatory protections you have as a consumer under the laws of your habitual residence. These terms do not impose a court that would deprive a consumer of a legally protected forum.

7. Reports and changes

Use the contact on the Legal & contact page to report a privacy, copyright, content or accessibility concern. Include the relevant page or image link, a brief explanation and a way to reply. Do not send identity documents or sensitive information unless we explain why it is necessary.

The update date identifies this version. Material changes will be explained on the service as appropriate and do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. These terms do not create payment obligations for an unlaunched feature.
